News Release December 2016

Newly decorated foyer areas at The Victoria Hall enhanced with art for sale

The Victoria Hall is very pleased to announce that their newly decorated and much improved entrance foyers are now open and displaying pieces of art and photography for general sale. The displays will range from 19th century to present day modern art and images.  Available for sale, at affordable prices, the art will be changed on a monthly basis and each month will host a particular genre, from landscapes to city views to people and places. Art currently on display is related to maritime boats, beaches and barges in the front foyer.  There is also artwork on sale from local artist, Barbara Taylor-Harris and photographic pieces from Rutland’s Richard Adams and Allan Grey.

Please do support the artists and call in and view their exhibits.  The Victoria Hall Charitable Trust will receive a percentage of any sale of the artwork to assist towards upkeep and improvements of this lovely Grade II listed building on the High Street in Oakham.

We are very pleased to announce that a generous donation to The Victoria Hall from the now defunct Chamber of Trade was made for £1,000 to be used to enhance the facilities at the hall.  A recent make-over of the Frontage (painting and new signage boards), the Foyer and the Gallery has been undertaken.  This will be celebrated over a glass of wine on Thursday 17th November at the Victoria Hall Gallery with old friends and new.
